Welcome

Hello and welcome to my brand new blog, Mypodology...

I've decided to do a blog looking at some of the albums I have on my iPod and giving my opinion of them on here. Initially this idea was going to be a podcast but I thought that it might work better as a blog. I'm basically going to focus on one album at a time; providing my thoughts on the songs as well as some interesting facts on it.

For this blog, I will only be listening to studio albums, which means that there will be no compilations nor any live recordings. I will allow remastered albums on to the list if they are something that I would want to listen to and review, but, it must be based on an original album. Another point to note is that I will be listening to each album in one sitting to try and absorb the music in its entirety and how the songs gel together.

It is also important to note something about album certifications which may come up as part of the fact finding aspect of the blog. Most of you will have heard the terms of awarding albums with sales statuses of Silver, Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum. I thought that it would be interesting to look at sales figures for the albums that I am reviewing; however, it is worth noting that different countries have different classifications.

So as not to make things too confusing, I will only look at sales in the UK and USA. There is quite a significant different between sales classifications in the UK to those in USA. In the UK, a Silver certification represents sales of 60,000 records, Gold is for 100,000 and Platinum is 300,000. Whereas, in the USA, Gold represents 500,000 and Platinum represents 1,000,000. You may therefore see that some albums have a significantly higher sales figure in the USA, but be more times Platinum in the UK.

So, for now, I hope that you enjoy some of the music on my iPod.
